Message from our President

Dear Valued Customers and Friends,

At First Midwest Bank, the health of our customers, co-workers, and communities is of the utmost importance. With this in mind, we have been closely monitoring, and responding to, the COVID-19 virus, and wanted to provide a status update.

Proactive Response

Having a robust business continuity plan is a requirement of every bank. While you hope never to utilize them, banks still have them, to be prepared for rare situations such as this one. Accordingly, we have a team that has been working very hard on this challenge, and taking actions to safeguard our customers and co-workers:

  • Our facilities now have enhanced cleaning practices.
  • Our staff has enhanced hygiene practices, consistent with those recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • We have also tightened our travel/vacation restrictions, including the stoppage of all non-essential work trips.
  • Many of our staff will have the ability to work from home.
  • Video or teleconferences will be encouraged over in-person meetings.
  • Non-contact methods of greeting are now utilized rather than handshakes.
Coronavirus

Scammers (unfortunately)

There have already been reports of scammers taking advantage of this situation, by preying on fears. Be extra careful online, on the phone, and in-person at this time. For more information on how to protect yourself from scams, please visit the Federal Trade Commission’s consumer information webpage.

Working Together

It is at times like this when our communities come together to overcome. This is a fluid situation, and changes will likely be necessary before it is over. Please follow the directions from the state, local, and federal government, as they come out. First Midwest Bank will be doing so, and we are here ready to help you.

Sincerely,

Joey McLane
President
